From Switzerland to Gandía!

At the beginning of last week we welcomed a guest from Switzerland – Beatriz had driven all the way from Geneva to Spain, initially spending time with her parents in Galicia to the north before coming down to visit us at Villa Florencia. Her main reason for visiting this area was because a friend of hers from Switzerland – also born to Spanish parents – was getting married in her parent’s home town near Gandía [...]

A Break from the City!

We had a booking during the course of last week from a man from Madrid, who had stayed with us last year as well. We are always pleased when a past guest wants to return to us, and this time Nacho wanted to bring three of his friends along with him, to show them where he had had such a good time the previous year. Beautiful April weather and a visit from my nephew prompted the decision to sample the delights of one of the walking routes ourselves. Turning left out of the driveway, a few steps along the road took us to the country lane that winds through the orchards and past several [...]

Self Catering Holidays

Early January marked the arrival of Peter and Sally, along with their good friend Margaret, who had made a booking several months before to stay with us in our self-catering apartment. They flew in to Valencia and hired a car at the airport, arriving by about midday – which meant they had had a very early start in the UK. When commenting that they obviously had no trouble finding us, since they made the trip [...]
