From Switzerland to Gandía!

At the beginning of last week we welcomed a guest from Switzerland – Beatriz had driven all the way from Geneva to Spain, initially spending time with her parents in Galicia to the north before coming down to visit us at Villa Florencia. Her main reason for visiting this area was because a friend of hers from Switzerland – also born to Spanish parents – was getting married in her parent’s home town near Gandía [...]

A Break from the City!

We had a booking during the course of last week from a man from Madrid, who had stayed with us last year as well. We are always pleased when a past guest wants to return to us, and this time Nacho wanted to bring three of his friends along with him, to show them where he had had such a good time the previous year. Because they were going to be a group of four, [...]

The Last Despedida of the Season!

The last Despedida de Soltera – the Spanish term for a hen-party – took place this weekend at Villa Florencia. Ten girls from Castellón had booked the whole house for the weekend and it was their intention to spend the daytimes enjoying themselves in the pool and to spend the evenings celebrating the send-off of their friend. Most of the girls arrived at about seven o’clock in the evening in order to prepare and decorate [...]

They have been coming on touring holidays in Spain for the last several years now, and stayed with us last year for the first time. They decided to visit Spain and the Costa Blanca again this year, and wanted to repeat their [...]

Pet Friendly Casa Rural

Several weeks ago we were contacted by two British ladies living in Jaen province in the south of Spain, enquiring if we had pet-friendly accommodation available for a couple of nights in early May. They had two dogs – a long-haired dachshund named Humphrey and a springer spaniel called Alice – and they wanted to visit the famous iris gardens near here, and bring their dogs along too. Of course this was no problem at [...]

Valencia Driving Holidays

Vincent and his girlfriend Kim from Belgium arrived at Villa Florencia at the beginning of the week – in search of a little respite from the cold weather further north. They are keen walkers and explorers, and wasted no time in getting to know the area a little, even on the afternoon of their arrival day and despite a very early start. They had decided that a self-drive holiday would be the best way to [...]
