Coffee, Coffee, Coffee

Coffee in Spain seems to be a ubiquitous drink and one that can be enjoyed virtually wherever you go. Better still, the coffee in Spain is invariably delicious. Certainly, there can few greater pleasures than sitting outside a Spanish bar with a sparkling blue sea in front of you whilst having a sociable cup of coffee. A Break from the City!

We had a booking during the course of last week from a man from Madrid, who had stayed with us last year as well. We are always pleased when a past guest wants to return to us, and this time Nacho wanted to bring three of his friends along with him, to show them where he had had such a good time the previous year. Because they were going to be a group of four, [...]

The Last Despedida of the Season!

The last Despedida de Soltera – the Spanish term for a hen-party – took place this weekend at Villa Florencia. Ten girls from Castellón had booked the whole house for the weekend and it was their intention to spend the daytimes enjoying themselves in the pool and to spend the evenings celebrating the send-off of their friend. Most of the girls arrived at about seven o’clock in the evening in order to prepare and decorate [...]

More Welcome Guests Return! Early in the year we were pleased to receive a booking from two guests who also stayed with us in 2010 – Frans and Marita, who come from Belgium. They have been coming on touring holidays in Spain for the last several years now, and stayed with us last year for the first time. They decided to visit Spain and the Costa Blanca again this year, and wanted to repeat their [...]

The Plight of the Spanish Greyhound

I have just been approached by a very high profile Spanish organization that is campaigning against animal cruelty in Spain.  This, of course, should be of interest to any right minded person and I hope that you will do your ‘bit’ to support them – and the many other organisations in Spain that do so much to help injured or homeless animals here. Certainly, there is animal cruelty in Spain – just as there is [...]
